HMONG PEOPLE

Picture
The Hmong people are found throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. They have their own culture and traditional beliefs, making them a unique ethnic group in the world. The Hmong population worldwide is about 12 million. Most people who live in China and Southeast Asia are agricultural and self-sufficient people.  Most remain poor. Those who live in North America, Canada, France, and Australia have access to better education, and they have more significant opportunities.

HMONG RELIGION

All of the Hmong in the world share the same traditional belief – Animism.  They believe that everything has a spirit. Some of the spirits are good, and some are evil. They call on the good spirits and the spirits of their deceased ancestors to help them in need. They practice shamanism and animal sacrifices. The Hmong religion has no heaven or hell; all the dead are going to the same place where their ancestors had gone before them.  Although they don’t acknowledge or know it, and they are living under the control of the devil’s evil power and influence. Their religion has no Savior to rescue them; animal sacrifices solve their temporal crisis, and re-incarnation has become their quest for eternal life.

EPIPHANY

Picture

Epiphany is always on January 6th.  The Word Epiphany comes from a Greek word, epiphaneo, which means “to appear, to make known or to reveal.”   As the church calendar developed, this day and this season, with up to nine Sunday between now and Lent, was a time to reflect on how Jesus, born on Christmas, was revealed to the World as the Son of God and Savior of all people. The story of the Wise Men was closely associated with the day of Epiphany since these were the first Gentiles who recognize Jesus as King.

THEY NEED THE GOSPEL

Most of the Hmong people in the world are not Christian. Unless they hear the Gospel, they will suffer eternal damnation in hell.  God loves these people, and Jesus died for their sins. They need to listen to the Gospel of Christ. With God’s help, the Hmong Mission Society intends to reach out with the Gospel to all the Hmong people in the world. Hmong Mission Society is doing Ministry in the United States and Asia. Will you help us bring the Gospel to these people?
